3rd Puli Run – Puli Power Mountain-Town Party Marathon

📅 2018年2月18日✍️ 作者: KoKoMu DIY Music Box

3rd Puli Run – Puli Power Mountain-Town Party Marathon

Event Purpose

To promote sport for all and support the government's "Sports Island" initiative, this race links Puli's local industries with well-known tourist attractions to revitalize the character of the countryside. By connecting Puli's agricultural specialties, tourism and local temples with a marathon, we hope to market Puli to runners — so that coming to Puli means not just running a marathon, but experiencing every facet of Puli's charm: its scenery, its food, and its culture.

Event Highlights

A. Powerful local food support stations — sweet Puli spring water, daikon soup, water bamboo shoots, passion fruit juice, Shaoxing sausage, Shaoxing wine eggs, rose tea, sugarcane juice, honey tea, fried rice noodles, 18°C chocolate, and more...

B. A grand tour of local attractions — the Center of Taiwan Monument, the paragliding platform, Carp Lake, Chengde Buddha, Chung Tai Chan Monastery, the Chung Tai World Museum, Puli's "Jinchengwu tree," Guangxing Paper Mill, Ailan Terrace, the Philosophy Path, the Breeze Bike Path, the Nature Cycling Route, and the Puli Earth Mother Temple...

C. A special "Never Give Up" award for the full marathon — Puli's beautiful mountains, waters and scenery are so captivating that runners may linger and lose track of time. To account for this, the cut-off time has been extended, and a special "Never Give Up" award has been added for full-marathon finishers who miss the official cut-off, along with a 50% discount on next year's registration.

D. Extra perks for runners — discounts at the fun fair, local attractions and specialty food stalls; think of your bib number as a coupon.

E. Combined with the Nantou Lantern Festival — runners can enjoy Puli's unique lantern display on the water, a hometown-of-water specialty light show.

First-Marathon Award

To encourage first-time marathoners completing their very first marathon, the organizer offers a First-Marathon Award as encouragement; a partial cost-recovery fee of NT$450 applies. Runners who do not wish to claim it (or have not paid the fee) need not register for it; please collect on-site only — it will not be issued if you are not present, and no refunds will be given.

100th / 200th / 300th Marathon Awards…

To recognize runners completing their 100th, 200th, 300th… marathon at this event, the organizer offers corresponding milestone awards. To claim one, you must first pass verification through the Runners' Plaza marathon census; runners who do not wish to claim an award need not register for it.

Full Marathon "Never Give Up" Award

Full-marathon runners who exceed the 7-hour cut-off, or who are picked up by the organizer's sweeper vehicle, will have a "Never Give Up" stamp added to their certificate (such certificates cannot be registered with the marathon census). These runners will receive an encouragement gift, and may use the certificate for a 50% discount on next year's registration — provided they were chip-timed at the start, completed at least 15km, and passed two timing checkpoints.

Runners claiming a 2nd "Never Give Up" certificate should first register through the normal process, then email a scanned copy of the certificate to pulipowerparty@gmail.com for our records; after review, we will notify you of the fee to be paid.

Aid Stations

Spaced roughly every 2–3 km, stocked with bottled water, sports drinks, salt tablets, crackers, chocolate, seasonal fruit, cooked food and more to help maintain energy; water-spray stations will be added at aid stations as needed.

Medical Stations

A. Fixed stations: three in total — one at the finish line and two along the course.

B. Mobile response: 12 motorcycles providing mobile patrol and first aid.

Bag Check

Bag check will be available from 5:00 am on March 11, 2018; any style of bag is fine, but it must have this event's bag-check tag attached. Items may be collected after the race by presenting your bib number, and must be collected by 14:00 that day. (Please look after valuables yourself — the organizer is not responsible for any loss.)

Notes

(Please read carefully)

1. The organizer reserves the right to broadcast, exhibit, and publish video, photos and results from this race worldwide, including on the organizer's website and publications; by entering, participants agree that their likeness and results may be used for related promotion and broadcast.

2. Safety first — race officials or on-site doctors have the right to stop a runner from continuing based on their physical condition, and runners may not object.

3. Please carry identification for verification.

4. Please follow the instructions of race officials and traffic police while running.

5. Please take good care of your bib number after check-in; lost bibs will not be reissued, and runners without a bib will lose their eligibility to race.

6. In the event of a typhoon or other force majeure before the race, the organizer, with runner safety as the priority, reserves the right to decide whether to cancel or reschedule the race, or use an alternate course; participants may not object.

7. To protect the rights of other road users, cross traffic at intersections along the course may be flexibly opened depending on traffic volume; please be sure to follow the guidance of officials and traffic police when crossing.

8. The organizer reserves the right to amend the course; please refer to the official website for the latest announcements.

9. The organizer reserves the right to amend or substitute gifts and souvenirs; please refer to the official website for the latest announcements.

10. Any matters not covered by these rules may be amended and announced by the organizer.

Violation of the following will result in disqualification and a one-year ban from the organizer's events:

a. Gaining an advantage during the race with outside assistance (e.g. riding in a vehicle, being physically supported, etc.).

b. A mismatch between the registered category and proof of identity/eligibility.

c. Violating the spirit of sportsmanship or ethics (e.g. fighting, abusing officials or staff...).

d. Using another runner's timing chip or wearing two chips to impersonate another runner.

Appeals

1. Race disputes: runners may not challenge officials on the spot during the race; where a matter is equivalently addressed by athletics rules, the officials' ruling is final and no appeal may be filed.

2. Appeal procedure: any issue arising from the competition must be submitted to the organizer within 30 minutes of each category's results being announced, together with an NT$1,000 deposit, for which the competition team will issue a receipt. All appeals are finally decided by the judging committee; if an appeal is deemed without merit, the deposit will be forfeited to the organizer's event fund.

Additional Notes

Exercise is an important element of good health; please pace yourself according to your own condition on race day, get sufficient sleep the night before, and eat breakfast 2 hours before the race.

The organizer provides NT$3,000,000 in public liability insurance for all participants in this event. (All details are subject to the insurer's policy terms.)

Public liability insurance coverage:

■ The insurer is liable to the insured for any bodily injury, death, or property damage to a third party arising from an accident during the policy period for which the insured is legally liable and a claim is made against them: (1) an accident occurring while the insured or their employees are running on the race course specified in this policy; (2) an accident arising from a building, passageway, machinery or other structure along the course.

■ Special exclusions: (1) sports injury caused by a pre-existing personal illness; (2) symptoms caused by an individual's own constitution or cardiovascular condition, such as shock, heart conditions, diabetes, heat exhaustion, heatstroke, altitude sickness, epilepsy, dehydration, etc.

Runners with a history of the conditions described above are advised to carefully consider their own safety, and to purchase their own personal accident insurance.

※ Anyone who registers, runs on another's behalf, or transfers a registration without the organizer's legal consent bears joint responsibility for any resulting insurance claims and legal liability.

Any matters not covered in this event handbook will be announced as they arise on the official website.
