Kokomu's predecessor was 'Haishan Handicraft Co.,' established in the 1970s. During Taiwan's golden age of woodware exports, we primarily manufactured exquisite music boxes, Nutcracker dolls, and wooden craft gifts for export to Europe. It was a warm era when Puli's townships had 'living rooms as factories,' and the streets were filled with the scent of cypress and cedar.
As times changed and industries moved overseas, many traditional factories quietly closed their iron gates. However, driven by a love for wood and a commitment to craft heritage, we decided to transform on-site. We preserved the precious production machinery and classic designs of the past, converting the traditional woodware factory into the laughter-filled 'Kokomu.'
We are dedicated to transforming traditional woodworking skills into DIY courses and exquisite cultural products that everyone can enjoy. We hope that every family visiting here can personally listen to the clear melodies of music bells and feel the purest handmade warmth in the wood grain.
